The northern mountainous province of Yên Bái and southern province of Ninh Thuận will be offered 1,000 tons of rice each, and the northern province of Ninh Bình with 1,730 tons.
The People’s Committees of the three localities will be in charge of distributing the food aid to right people.
Earlier, PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng on January 21 agreed to supply 33,816 tons of rice for local residents in 11 provinces, namely Bình Định, Quảng Bình, Quảng Nam, Quảng Trị, Hà Tĩnh, Thanh Hóa, Lào Cai, Lai Châu, Điện Biên, Nghệ An, and Sơn La.
The move aims to ensuring that the poor people can have a happy Tết holidays./.
