Therefore, by properly perceiving the scientific, revolutionary and humanistic values in Ho Chi Minh's thought, we contribute to protecting the ideological foundation of the Communist Party of Vietnam. Thereby refuting and denying false and hostile claims that distort and defame Ho Chi Minh's thought.
Article 1: Orders from life, urges from the heart
Resolutely defending the scientific, revolutionary and humaneness in Ho Chi Minh's thought is not only an attitude of respecting historical truth, defending truth and morality, upholding scientific beliefs, striving to cultivate pure revolutionary morality and exercise firm political will, but also the command of life, the urge from the heart of each of us.
Science, revolution and humanity are the essence of Ho Chi Minh's thought
Since the VII Congress (1991) of the Party, along with Marxism-Leninism, Ho Chi Minh's thought was officially affirmed by the Communist Party of Vietnam as the ideological foundation and guideline for the Party's revolutionary actions. The Party's new awareness of Ho Chi Minh's thought was affirmed in the XI Congress Document (2011), which was inscribed in the Platform for national construction in the transition to socialism (supplemented and developed in 2011), in the context of the whole Party and the whole people solemnly celebrating the Thousand Year of Thang Long.
“Ho Chi Minh's thought is a comprehensive and profound system of views on the basic issues of the Vietnamese revolution, the result of the creative application and development of Marxism-Leninism to the specific conditions of our country, inheriting and developing the good traditional values of the nation, absorbing the cultural quintessence of humanity, which is an extremely large and precious spiritual asset of our Party and nation, forever illuminating the way for the victory of our people's revolutionary cause."(1).
Under the right and wise leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam - the true revolutionary party founded and trained by Ho Chi Minh, experienced and brave in the previous revolutionary struggle, in the current renovation and international integration, we are steadfast in our ideals, the goal of national independence and socialism, instilling and practicing his teachings “dĩ bất biến ứng vạn biến" (Keeping cool/calm is to cope with multi-unexpected changes), upholding determination, faith and concentricity (the word used by Ho Chi Minh), consolidating the strength of the “The will of the Party, the heart of the people, the law of the country" to successfully realize the goal of renovation and successful construction of socialism in our country: “Rich people, strong countries, democracy, justice, civilization".
It is also his aspiration, ambition and aspiration for development, which he clearly stated in his sacred Will to leave to the whole Party and the whole people before returning to his ancestors, with Marx-Lenin in eternity: "The whole Party, all our people are united in striving and building a peaceful, unified, independent, democratic and powerful Vietnam, and made a worthy contribution to the cause of world revolution"(2).
Ho Chi Minh's thought is associated with his morality and style in an inseparable organic and holistic system. Science, revolution, and humanity permeated that whole system, shown consistently in the life and career of Ho Chi Minh, consistency between thought and action, words and deeds, lifelong struggle and sacrifice for the independence of the Fatherland, freedom for the nation and happiness of the people.
Science, revolution, and humanity are the essence and outstanding features of Ho Chi Minh's thought, reflected both in his theory and in practical activities as a creative Marxist thinker, genius organizer of the Vietnamese revolution.
Ho Chi Minh's ideological values through the test of time become sustainable values, experienced through the glorious revolutionary struggle history of the Party and our nation in the past 20th century as well as now and in the future, as a guideline for action for the whole Party, the whole people in innovation, integration and development.
The value, vitality and meaning of Ho Chi Minh's thought are not only affirmed in the country but also have a great pervasive influence in international political life and in the culture of the human world. Vietnam came to the world and deservedly appeared in the ranks of the pioneering nations in the world against imperialism and colonialism thanks to Ho Chi Minh - an outstanding symbol for the tireless struggle for Independence-Freedom-Happiness of the nation and humanity.
Defending Ho Chi Minh's thought is defending truth and morality
The world understands Vietnam, supports and helps Vietnam, loves, trusts and is proud of Vietnam thanks to Ho Chi Minh - a great man and celebrity of ideological and cultural stature, the messenger of peace and friendship, an outstanding symbol of the culture of peace, the culture of tolerance.
Ho Chi Minh goes down in history with an indelible mark, as one of the rare leaders who has become a legend since he was alive, as assessed by international friends.
When he died, 53 years ago (September 2, 1969), thousands of telegrams and letters of condolence from around the world were sent to the Party and our people, including Cuba, with the profound and poignant assessment of Comrade Fidel Castro Ruz: Comrade Ho Chi Minh belongs to a special class of people whose death sows the seeds of life and and is an eternal source of encouragement...
“He lives forever in the hearts of the people and in the hearts of mankind", which is not only a respectful and sacred praise for him but also a testimony of history, transcending time and space, from nation to humanity. It is also an affirmation of Ho Chi Minh's true values.
Resolutely protecting the science, revolution and humanity in Ho Chi Minh's thought is not just an attitude of respecting historical facts, defending truth and morality, upholding scientific beliefs, making every effort to cultivate pure revolutionary morality and exercise firm political courage, which he is a noble example to follow forever, but also the command of life, the urge from the heart of each one of us.
Life tells us that it is necessary to criticize and refute all distortions of Ho Chi Minh's thought, even insults to his private life and his dignity from opponents, reactionary forces with malicious intentions, ignorance and injustice.
Any insult to Ho Chi Minh is an insult to the nation, the people and our Party, to the conscience of the whole progressive humanity, which has honored his invaluable contributions to history. Practice is the highest standard, the most objective measure of truth.
Time is the test, the most objective and honest screening helps to distinguish good and bad, right and wrong, true and false. The malicious and even infamous distortions of hostile and reactionary forces, including traitors, selling their own personality, and separating themselves from the community of people and the nation aimed at Ho Chi Minh and his thoughts cannot obscure the truth, cannot shake our faith and affection for Ho Chi Minh.
That is the scientific belief that originates from the enlightenment of truth, the strong feeling that has become the flesh and blood that makes life, in every beat of the heart and soul of each of us.
During his lifetime, Prime Minister Pham Van Dong said: "The life of President Ho Chi Minh was as clear as light. It reflects the history of our people's revolutionary struggle. It reflects a whole historical era of revolutionary struggle of our country and the world"(3)...
The outstanding student of Ho Chi Minh, who lived, worked and fought alongside President Ho Chi Minh for many decades, who understood and empathized with Ho Chi Minh spoke to our hearts about our faith and love for him...
